Baptism
Hey,
This week went by pretty fast. One day we had a conference with the president. Another two days we had service projects. Both of them where basically the same thing. Alot of people, I think, just build onto their homes. So alot of sidewalks companies will just dump rocks and dirt there for people to make cement. So, for both service projects we just carried aton of random stuff up the tops of hills. The first one was a little different though, because the top of the house had a pully. I don't know if it made it easier but I pullied everything and buckets of rocks for a few hours gets pretty tiring.
Hmm.. what else did I do. One night we were talking to a lady at her house and when we went to leave there was this really creepy old guy standing in the middle of the dark street just watching us and then some dogs starting chasing us. It was weird, but the dogs dont do much. So when I say chase I just mean they run after us barking but thats about it.
For now there's three of us: Elder Gleaves and Elder Santana. Gleaves only has two transfers after this and has already been here for like 6 months (in the area) so most likely next time he will leave, and Santana and I will both get individual companions since we know the area. Hmm hmm hmm. I baptized a little girl, like a week or so ago. Her name is Camela (maybe I don't remember for sure, but something like that). She's a member of the church, not someone I taught. So that's cool I guess. Her grandma has pictures, so maybe I'll get those one day. Idk. But yeah, that was my week.
New years, Christmas, and both of those eves we have to either be at home or having dinner in a members house. So tha'ts cool, get a break.
On friday we have a mission Christmas party. I just hope there is pizza. That's probably like the only good thing in Brazil (lol);
See ya

Baptisms are great, as a missionary, eve if it is just a child of record (8 year old) baptism. They provide opportunity through family, friends, and neighbors, for sharing the gospel.
ReplyDeleteAs for food: I remember struggling with the horrible food in Texas (beans, Mexican food, etc.) and so I liked pizza, also.
