Elder Reed- Brazil Sao Paulo Interlagos

Hmmmm...  I don't have much to say. I'm finishing up my last week at the CTM right now. We got some more Brazilian roommates. I dont know when so I dont know I've already mentioned this lol. But we can talk to them alot more in portuguese which is really cool.  Next week I leave on Tuesday to my mission and get a new companion. My companion right now has been sick for like 2 weeks. He just uses hippie oils and isn't getting better. Today I woke up with a soar throat (and I assume I finally caught whatever he has) but I think I will be fine.  Some brazilians can speak english very well and it's really cool because the majority of them learned it from video games and movies because they got sick of dubbings and translations. It's actually super awesome. They're not perfect but some of them are better then us when it comes to us speaking portuguese. Tho it's usually not that way. For this weeks email I'm just going to summarize a regular day at the CTM. And yes it is boring. I wake up at 6:30 everyday and get dressed and all that fun stuff. Oh random thing, the toilet paper here isn't in rolls but it's like in upside tissue box - it's actually a lot easier to use.  My room has three bunk beds. But there is only 4 of us. Each bed has a desk and two dressers. I used to sleep in the bottom middle bed, but the one close to the window was switched to mine because the ladder was next to the window and it was a "safety concern". So now I'm by the window. I like it a lot better actually. The window peers down 7 floors into the gardin at the center. If I look to the side I can see the city.  Once I'm ready I have to go to the ground floor for breakfast. The cafeteria isn't massive. Every breakfast is ham and cheese sandwhiches. It kinda sucks now. Ok I need to rush through my day. I don't have a ton of time....

​I'm breaking this up into days so I can try and remember everything better. Wednesday We walked around town but there honestly isn't a ton to do around our small area other then just buy snacks.  Thursday I don't actually remember much from this day... F We watched the funureal for Elder Haylesl.  Other then that I don't remember much. It was some peoples pday and the funural took up part of their time so I feel bad for them. S We went  proselyting  for 3 hours in the city. Everyone I talked to had us go away. S Fast sunday so we got a ton of free time so that was awesome. So I don't have enough time! Everything is still going well. Days here are long. Its kinda weird and annoying but at the same time the weeks seem to be really short. Its weird. It feels like its it was just p-day yesterday but at the same time weve done so much since then. I think its because we don't every actually go anywhere. The experience at the CTM is basically the same still. Last week after I emailed we went into the city for the first time. It's pretty cool but sorta poor. The part we went into just had stores with massive openings. Since the stores are soo close to the CTM they are use to dealing with english speakers but thats only a couple of them. The majority of them you cant figure out what your getting. It took me a while to find a body wash because I think everyone here uses bars and I wanted soap and I wasnt sure what it was called but I lucked out and got the right thing. I also bought a red gatorade, which turned out be some weird, but good, mango flavor. A shoe shop had this massi...

Hey! I dont have a ton of time so I took a photo of the email to read later. Thats what they told us we should do. They keyboard isnt too bad. My first week flew by. My campanions name is Pancheri from Utah. The rest of my distrect is great. There is a kid from Japan and the Philippines in my district. I have gotten to leave the CTM today. So far we have gone to the Temple but we are about to go out in the streets right after this. We arent supposed to send pics at the CTM because it will slow down the wifi so you wont be getting any any time soon. The food here is pretty good. Its mostly beans, rice, chicken, and roast beef. Every morning we have ham and cheese sandwhiches. I haven't gotten sick of them yet which is good. They had pizza once but it was weird but good except one taste straight up like fish and was disgusting, another one had chocolate sauce and sprinkles.  September 27, 2017

Hi mom I just got into the CTM. Our p-days here are Wednesday but we won't get to email tomorrow because we are today. We are going to be here for 6 weeks. This CTM is pretty nice but this whole city is just a massive slum stretching as far as the eye can see and the skyscrapers are just worn down ones like the crappy ones in Fort Worth. Welp I do't have much time so I'm gonna go. Wish I can type a little faster but the keyboards are somewhat different which is annoying. See ya! September 19, 2017
